A Note From The Pastor
The Church of the Cross has helped many people come to know the Lord personally and grow their Christian faith. Over the years she has given a strong witness to the community and support to many helpless, poor, and struggling people. At her very core is the commitment to pray for the hurting and suffering to extend whatever help she can to those in need. Her example comes from the scripture and doing what the members understand Jesus would do in these situations. By this expression itself, the very DNA of the church has been developed and is acknowledged when new people come into the fellowship and often say, “This church is really friendly and caring.”
I have found as Pastor that we have a membership of very prominent business men, a medical doctor, teachers, blue-collar workers, housewives, and those who have been in jail or formerly on drugs. They treat each other as family and work together as a team in whatever they approach to do for the Lord. To me this span across what could be barriers in some churches makes for a very strong church. The church supports five missionaries and several local ministries. Most important they are a praying people.
When I first came to the church she had declined and the people were discouraged and questioning things. They also had hope for the future and a desire to work and do what was necessary to grow. God was in their midst and they prayed for the lost people of their families and the city. I do believe you will see in this church a movement of the Holy Spirit and peoples’ lives being changed and re-directed in Gods direction for the building of the Kingdom. What is happening in the church comes from a united effort on the part of those coming to build the Kingdom and reach the world. We know we can’t do that by ourselves and encourage you to come and join us in this adventure.
